Most warnings of low ink or out of ink on remanufactured HP 564 or HP 564xl cartridges are due to programming by HP that try and block the use of re-manufactured or refilled cartridges (same for HP 920 / 920xl / 940 / 940xl). This message may appear due to firmware or software updates on your printer. This does not indicate that the cartridge is defective or low or out of ink.  By ignoring and closing the message, you may continue using the cartridge.

Our remanufactured cartridges for HP 564 and HP 564xl (same for HP 920 / 920xl / 940 / 940xl / HP 60 / HP 61 and others) are filled to maximum specifications.  Although The ink level indicator window may prompt cartridge as empty or low, please Ignore & close the message box to continue printing

On some printers, they make it more difficult.  If ignoring/closing the message box does not work to allow your printer to function with the refilled/remanufactured cartridges, you can try this procedure which works on many HP Deskjet models:
 

• Turn off your printer. Turn it back on and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.
• Click open the “Start” menu on your computer, then click on “Control Panel,” and double-click “Printer and Faxes
• Locate the icon of your printer along with its model number. Right-click this icon and click on "Properties" from the pop-up list.
• Click the “Services” tab and select “Service This Device.”
• Select the “Estimated Ink Level” tab. Click the option “Reset Ink Level.” The printer will then show a refreshed ink cartridge level for your printer.
